I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to publicize the upcoming bout.

Former two time unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually known for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving massive earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
